Privacy and consent

Leaving Oil is an independent guide. The calculator runs in your browser and nothing you type into it is sent anywhere unless you submit the request form.

What we collect when you send a request

The name, email, optional phone, address or town, heating type, home size, timeline and interest you enter, any note, and a snapshot of your calculator numbers. We also record the time, the page you were on, your IP address and browser details, and the exact consent wording you agreed to, so we can show who agreed to what.

Who sees it

Leaving Oil. If you consented, participating Mass Save network installers or insulation contractors that we match you with may contact you by email or phone call about your request. No installers are listed yet. We do not sell your details to anyone else, and we do not send texts or autodial.

The consent you give

“I agree that Leaving Oil and participating Mass Save network installers or insulation contractors may contact me by email or by phone call (at the number I gave, if any) about my request. I understand Leaving Oil is an independent guide, that listed installers may pay to be listed, and that I do not have to agree in order to use the calculator or read this site. I can withdraw this consent at any time by replying to any message. See the privacy page.”

Withdrawing or deleting

Reply to any email we send you and say “stop” or “delete”. We will stop contact and remove your request.

Disclosure

Listed installers may pay to be listed, and we may be paid when a homeowner request is sent to an installer.
